Our Chef
Chef Kenneth Rector Jr. was raised in a family of amazing cooks. As a chef, he loves using those experiences to incorporate new flavor combinations into tried and true favorites. After attending culinary school in the Navy, he further honed his skills in various restaurants and catering venues before opening Rec's Catering in 2005.
He further expanded the brand, creating a completely new and unique product for Rec's Hushpuppie Heaven in 2013.
Kenneth lives in Pflugerville, TX, with his wife, two kids, and backyard full of BBQ pits. An avid sports fan, he regularly hosts his family and friends for game time and grub! When he isn’t cooking, Kenneth loves spending time watching his son play football and catching up with his daughter in college.
